When you walk by them they are so nice to look at yet many wonder what the ingredients of silk flowers really are. It is funny that they are not plastic yet they are durable, resist damage, look natural, feel real and are stable in the high temperatures of the summer heat. This is why so many place them at outdoor grave sites, their backyards and balconys. Well, the ingredient is polyether polyurethane. This is a foam product that has a compound mixture of differnet chemicals when mixed and combined just right and poured into a mold, the artificial flower is produced. The silk flowers are much better than the old fashioned plastic version which were easily identifiable as fake and did not look near as nice.
